JeMarrJackson My Personal Bio I was born on October 27 and raised in Cincinnati, OH, where I am now 20 years old. I am of African American & Puerto Rican descent and I come from a large family consisting of 2 brothers & 2 sisters with a host of extended family. My favorite foods are Pepperoni & Bacon pizza, spaghetti, macaroni & cheese, & slim jims. I graduated from the School for Creative & Performing Arts (http://www.scpak12.org/) in May 2011, majoring in Vocal & Technical Theater. I currently work as a cashier at BW3's on UC's Campus. My favorite color is Green, but my favorite colors to wear are RED & BLACK. I am a very outgoing and fun person and most likely one of the nicest people you will ever meet! I am a second year University of Cincinnati student and some of my favorite hobbies include eating, laughing, going out, collecting shoes, shop, listen to music, and just having a good time!
Professional Goals I am a second year Middle Childhood Education major at the University of Cincinnati. I hope to one day become a 7th-9th grade History/English teacher, (or get famous and become some type of musician or actor as my backup plan!) Currently I am a Habari Gani Ambassador for the African American Cultural Resource Center here on the University of Cincinnati's campus and also an active member in the CECH Tribunal and E-Board Member to the United Black Student Association (UBSA). My one goal throughout life is to just be able to help and be an aid for children and work with people to help make a difference in the world for the future.
Why become a educator? As a kid, I've always wanted to help people and be a positive influence and role model in someone's life. I feel like as a teacher, I will be able to accomplish that goal, if I haven't already. My dream career is a job where I'm working with people, particularly children because my philosophy is if you teach a child early, they can learn and educate early as well. I've always looked up to my educators in school because i knew I wanted to be just like them and be amongst the best of the educators there is. I feel as though to be a great teacher, you have to have patience, care, and the passion to help others and be involved in making a difference in someone's life and I believe that I myself, embody those qualities and would like to more than anything use them to help make another human beings life better, if possible.
Goals for the Course From this course, I just hope to learn how to become a better teacher and also how to include all aspects of technology in teaching methods.
Textbook Game Entry This game is an app available in the Google Play Store and also in Apple App Store. It's a word game that allows you 2 minutes to play against either your Facebook friends or you Twitter Followers and you have to find words on a standard 16 letter board and it allows you to view the amount of words you and your competitor found in various rounds. It challenges you to find as many words as possible by connecting letters together for points and at the end of each round, you can view and compare the scores of you and your opponent!
